My memories seem to be revealed and then obscured in layers of color as I allow bits of poetry and marks to make their way to the surface of the paintings. I live now in a desert, on the edge of a high plains prairie-- this is where the sky seems to touch the land. And yet, this is where I also remember living alongside the sea. These places are so similar to me, and at the same time, very different. |
